About Lisa Teach Me

Lisa Teach Me was initially created by Lisa Sims in July 2019 as a Facebook Group. It later transitioned to a Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/lisasimsteachme) to share her homeschooling techniques, tools, and tips with other homeschooling parents or those contemplating homeschooling. Lisa has always had a heart for teaching. She has been teaching information technology courses in web development and ecommerce for various online universities for over fifteen years. Likewise, she has been homeschooling her oldest son since kindergarten. He is currently in fourth grade. She has also been homeschooling her youngest son since he was two years old. He is now five years old and in kindergarten.

As the Covid-19 pandemic began in March 2020, Lisa received numerous calls, text messages, and emails regarding effective homeschool strategies for neurotypical children and children with autism. She knew she was on to something but did not have enough time to investigate it while transporting her oldest son to speech and occupational therapies, caring for her younger son, maintaining her online assistant professor job, and homeschooling. In June 2021, Lisa decided to take a leap of faith and go for it. In July 2021, Lisa Teach Me was incorporated.

Our Mission

The mission of Lisa Teach Me is to encourage and empower parents and caregivers with homeschooling knowledge and resources to help their children succeed. Oftentimes, homeschooling is viewed as inferior to a public or private school education but it is far from true. More people are turning to homeschooling as a viable schooling option for numerous reasons:

Every child is reachable and teachable. It’s up to you to figure out how.
