The Covid-19 pandemic changed how we live, work, and learn. When schools shifted to virtual learning in 2020, you probably realized it was not going to work for your child for numerous reasons. You probably felt helpless and hopeless. What could you do?
What about homeschooling? Prior to the pandemic or during the pandemic, did you feel:
- Frustrated with the state of public education for your neurotypical or special needs child?
- Considered private education but found it too expensive?
- Frustrated with the bureaucracy and red tap required to get your special needs child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 plan met?
- Want more freedom in your child’s curriculum?
- Need more flexibility for how and where your child learns?
- Tired of your child experiencing bullying by other students, teachers, and administrators and feeling hopeless because nothing is being done about it?
- Considered homeschooling but do not think you can do it or know where to begin?
Let Lisa Teach Me help you get started with homeschooling your neurotypical and special needs children and more!
Who is Lisa Sims?
There is no one word that can describe Lisa Sims. The best two words to describe Lisa would be faithful innovator.
Without a roadmap, Lisa is determined and resourceful to find answers. She is a mother of two sons who does not accept no as an answer. When Lisa’s oldest son completed special needs Pre-K, he was referred for kindergarten placement at one of the lowest performing schools in her county. Lisa did not accept this as her son’s fate.
Homeschooling does not have to be done only at home. Learning happens everywhere every day.
